Singapore Zoo! For the nth time. We visted the zoo 3 weeks back when Papa was in US. Then, we made a pact to return soon and NOT play at the waterpark this time. There are some other things to play, and all the time, we expended our engergies at the water park and neglected them. So this time, we wanted to do the animal rides.
Meimei at the entrance.
The beautiful greenery that just makes the Singapore Zoo one of the most beautiful tropical gardens in the world. This zoo is really good. When we visited the Cincinati Zoo in US, we compared and felt that the Singapore Zoo is better, probably due to the greenery.
During hot days, it shades you from the sun. So dun worry if you are afraid of hot outdoors in Singapore. One doesn’t feel it at the zoo. It drizzled a little this day for us, but still it was ok. The shades just seem to shield it all.
Meimei imitating the white faced monkey. I think it’s an ugly monkey with an ugly face. But wait, you’ll see the ugliest animal in the last pic of this post.
White tiger, majestic as ever..
One thing you’ll never see the end of is monkeys in this Zoo, so many primates I got really bored. Another two more!
That’s the expression that says he’s very happy with the ride. $6 for a small round, over in less than 3 mins! Not much of a deal, but hey the poor horsies work from 10am to 5pm. So let’s go easy with the babies..
Next for the elephant ride. I was a little embarassed to begin joining the queue 10 mins before tickets began selling but boy, was I GLAD I did. The queue formed quickly and crazily right behind us in no time. Apparently this is a very popular ride.
It said that they only limit to 30 pax per session but looking at the queue behind us, I’m sure there were easily 200 people. $8 per person adult/child. Meimei rided for free.
I was queuing with them until the last minute. I let Papa go with them. Cos as you see we were suppose to sit within the metal thing. But I felt too fat and was afraid I’d crush the rest of the others. So I sacrificed. :~~(
While I waited for them to return from their ride, I saw a poor perspiring baby (abt 6-8mths) strapped to her mommy’s back with a baby carrier. The carrier had straps which blocked her view and she was frantically tugging at the straps to see what’s going on around her. All this while being squashed to her mother’s back. She looked majorly uncomfortable, but mommy was busy tending to big sister and getting ready to get on the elephant ride. I tapped her and asked if the baby’s comfortable, and she told me she was.
So while they went up the ride, taking in the view, baby was strapped facing mommy’s back frantically tugging at the side straps to get a view of what’s going on around her, perspiring badly.
All these, while her Papa took pictures on the side. Couldn’t they have just left baby with Papa?
All in , it’s just something a little different. Come 2012 (or 2011?) there will be something new at the zoo. Something like a boat ride into the reservoir surrounding the zoo, it’s gonna be beautiful and we’re looking forward to it.
Making faces at KFC after everything. Ugly boh, doncha wanna beat me up?
WARNING :- Girls, only do this after you are married when the man is safely in your capture. Never attempt before marriage.
